CLINTON, Iowa – First Central State Bank delivered more than $19,000 to local non-profits through its Grilling For Charity fundraisers in 2024.

The total of $19,191 is the second-most money ever dished out through these events, trailing only 2021’s total of more than $20,000.

First Central State Bank CEO and President Brigham Tubbs said these events remain a testament to not only the company’s, but the community’s willingness to give back to those who need it most.

“We’re proud to make a difference in the communities we serve,” Mr. Tubbs said. “We’re thankful for the continued support from our friends and neighbors, who help support these organizations, so our communities remain great places to live, work and play.”

The eastern Iowa community bank hosted charitable events in Clinton, DeWitt, Eldridge, and Goose Lake.

Non-profits benefitting were the Eldridge Volunteer Fire Department, DeWitt Theater Company, the Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center, and the Northeast Athletic Boosters.

The Eldridge and Clinton events, benefitting the fire department and Discovery Center, totaled the most money, with the fire department generating $8,166 and the Discovery Center netting $6,009. Goose Lake’s event tallied $2,600 for the Northeast Athletic Boosters and DeWitt’s event raised $2,416 for the theater company.

In addition, First Central State Bank team members throughout the bank’s footprint donated to wear jeans on the event days, adding to the recipient’s total.

The Grilling For Charity events are hosted by First Central State Bank, with the bank providing the food and drinks, along with volunteers. Launched in 2009, the events have raised tens of thousands of dollars for area nonprofits and families. Each year, a new nonprofit is chosen to receive the donations.
