Fill the Truck event supports area shelter, housing services

Family Resources staff and volunteers will be collecting new basic need items outside of 12 Quad Cities area Hy-Vee stores from 9  a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 15, during a “Fill the Truck” campaign.

All items collected will benefit Family Resources’ Sheltering and Housing services for survivors of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, sex and labor trafficking, homicide and other violent crimes.

Some of the needed items include: all kitchen and bath items, cleaning supplies, bed and bath linens, toiletries, small home items, baby and toddler supplies (diapers, pull-ups, toothpaste) and over-the-counter medicines.

Trucks and volunteers can be found at the following Hy-Vee locations on June 15:

  • Bettendorf: Middle Road Devils Glen Road and at 53rd Street/Utica Ridge Road.
  • Clinton, Iowa: South 4th Street.
  • Davenport: Kimberly Road and Eastern Avenue; West Locust Street; and West Kimberly Road.
  • Milan: West 10th Street.
  • Moline: Avenue of the Cities.
  • Muscatine, Iowa: 2nd Avenue.
  • Rock Island: 18th Avenue.
  • Silvis: 5th Street.
  • Eldridge: East LeClaire Road.
