DuTrac Community Credit Union opens branch in ‘hot area’ of Bettendorf

DuTrac Community Credit Union’s newest branch at 2770 Middle Road, Bettendorf, is big. At 9,400 square feet, it’s DuTrac’s second largest branch.

That size makes it possible to house many divisions of the credit union business under one roof – and include a feature for the community.

One of the many amenities of the new branch is a community room that can host up to 45 people. The room, which is available for use by the public, includes four computers for public use, a series of tables and a kitchen adjacent to the community room. The room also will eventually have a mural covering one of its walls. (Call DuTrac at (563) 635-7400 for information on reserving the room.)

“We’re just really pleased (with this room) and the entire building,” Jason Norton, DuTrac’s senior vice president of marketing and business development, said as he gave a tour to the QCBJ during grand opening events Friday, July 8.

The latest branch, which has about 20 employees and is the fifth location in the Quad Cities area, is large enough to meet the diverse needs of the community. Some of those financial needs include consumer, commercial and mortgage lending, wealth planning and management, trust and insurance services, two drive-through lanes and a drive-up ATM.

But Mr. Norton also displayed great pride in showing off some of the smaller details to the new facility including the sliding clear glass doors on the offices, a spacious lobby area and a separate public entrance for the community room.

“We’re all really proud of this new branch,” Mr. Norton added.

Friday’s grand-opening celebration also included a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, prize give-aways, a free lunch provided by DuTrac and welcoming speeches from community and DuTrac leaders.

“Thank you for your investment here. You have a beautiful spot in a hot area of town,” Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher said at the celebration.

That event also featured Andy Hawkinson, president and CEO of DuTrac, who pointed out that ground was broken on the project exactly one year ago – on July 8, 2021.

He also thanked the many community members and DuTrac officials for their support and hard work to make the new branch a reality. “They put a lot of blood, sweat and tears in this project,” he said.

Headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa, DuTrac’s charter area that includes 21 counties in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. More than 140 employees staff its 14 branches in the tri-state region. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. The latest member of the DuTrac branch was built to better serve the community and keep the credit union growing, Mr. Hawkinson said.

“The decision to expand is part of our long-term growth strategy to serve out current and potential members better,” he added in a news release. “We are eager to grow with the Bettendorf and greater Quad Cities community to help more people achieve their life goals and dreams.”
